Tibetan Heart Yoga Series 1 to 4 in Singapore 07/08

More Tibetan Heart Yoga classes will be conducted in Singapore from July 07 to Apr 08.

For details, please visit this post on dakinidance and for updates, please check recent posts on this blog.

About the Instructor
Yat Peng started learning yoga in 1996 in London. She came back to Singapore in 1999 and started taking yoga classes with Mr Jason Lim Heng Moh, a renowned yoga teacher and Buddhist practitioner in Singapore. At his encouragement, she took up a course in Singapore that allows her to teach yoga in Singapore - the International Certificate in Yoga Instructor by the Institute of Vedic Studies, Yoga Education & Research, India (2004).

Her main passion is Tibetan Heart Yoga, as it combines both inner and outer methods to reach the goal of yoga. So far, she has completed the Tibetan Heart Yoga Series 1 to 6 Teachers' Training Workshop
in Tucson, Arizona (2004-2007), directly taught by Geshe Michael and Lama Christie and organised by the Yoga Studies Institute.

She further received training called the
Asana Yoga Teachers' Training Series,
from an amazing dakini, Ms Mira Shani, a devoted student of Geshe Michael and Lama Chrisite, over three semesters at Diamond Mountain University, Arizona (2005-2006). Recently she organised teachings on Master Patanjali's Yoga Sutra in Singapore and was taught the First Chapter on Meditation or the Samadhi Pada by Venerable Nyingpo. She is now accreditated to teach Tibetan Heart Yoga Series 1 by the Yoga Studies Institute (YSI Teacher Directory).

Sacred Dance Workshop - Completed

Dance in Tibetan Buddhism is considered a very high and powerful practice. The 1st Panchen Lama wrote a whole text on its benefits and even Je Tsongkapa himself is said to have practised sacred dance.

So what is sacred dance ?

Why is it so powerful ?

And can anyone practise it, even someone who believes they have 2 left feet ?

We believe the only thing you do need to be a sacred dancer is the right intention and the willingness to open your heart and mind. So, just bring those along and come for an afternoon of movement, discussion and perhaps even transformation :)

Jaki has been studying and teaching dance at Diamond Mountain University, as her 'major', and is very excited to lead this workshop.

When : Saturday 11 August
Where: JayGee Building (TBC)
Time: 2 - 5pm

This workshop is free.

Teachings by Ms Jaki Fisher - Completed

1. Talk: Why Do I need a Lama ?
In Tibetan Buddhism, the importance of the Lama, or Teacher is always stressed as the first step on the Buddhist path, and as the root of all spiritual realisations. The whole idea of the Lama can be weird and jarring to us in the modern world and in this session, we will use Geshe Michael's Roach's presentation on the Magic of Empty Teachers as the basis for a discussion and sharing on this crucial topic. We may not find any definitive answers, but all questions will be considered.
Date: Sat 17 march
Time: 3-5pm
Venue:
Mr Benny Ong's premises
(60 Robertson Quay, The Quayside, #04-06)

2. Dance Workshop: Sacred Dance for all - even those with 3 left feet
This workshop will consider how dance can be a spiritual practice as vaild and as powerful as meditating on your cushion. We will use ideas from a newly discovered Tibetan sacred dance text written by the first Panchen Lama, Lobsang Chukyi Gyeltsen as the basis for this class and yes, we will get up and experience sacred dance for ourselves. So please bring something comfortable and cool to move in. No dance experience at all is required, just a willingness to try and the motivation to help all beings and ourselves get fully enlightened as fast as possible.
Date: Sunday 18 March
Time: 3-5.30pm

Venue: Cecilia's home (38b Jalan Mat Jambol 02#19 Island View)
Tel 647 555 71

Any enquiries for the above two events, please contact Ms Jaki Fisher directly at lobsangchopel@yahoo.com
